Every year, Verbier holds the famous Xtreme contest which represents the finals of the Freeride World Tour. After travelling the planet in search of powder slopes, the world’s best freeriders meet up in Verbier for the final ride of the season from the top of the mythic 3,222m high Bec des Rosses. Watching the riders making their daring way down the narrow couloirs and the steep north face of the mountain takes your breath away. Get your adrenaline rush as a spectator on the Col des Gentianes!
Parallel to the incredible freeride images displayed all weekend, this event also highlights the importance of calculating and knowing the risks when riding off-piste: the riders share a common passion but they all agree that freeriders need to have a good knowledge of the mountain environment and knowing how to use the safety equipment is a must.
